Dheisheh is one of three Palestinian refugee camps in Bethlehem, and it was created in 1949 to accommodate displaced Palestinians from more than 45 villages west of Jerusalem. The people of Dheisheh are extraordinary. Despite poor living conditions, they have a very high level of education; they are resistant, resilient, and good-humored. We dedicate this energetic, elegant, and vibrant design to the people of Dheisheh

What is Hirbawi Kufiya like?

Oh...Soft cotton. Most likely the biggest you can find, 47” by 47”, which is over 15 sq. ft. of awesomeness. Made on a custom kufiya loom and finished by hand.

I was s t o k e d to see the message y'day, and today with the portal opened up when the sale went live I was typing fast•and•furious! Ordered single kufiyas to avoid bouncing; Dheisheh is dark - perfect for constant wear and frequent washing. My wife is getting the Flag colors. Mine's going everywhere I go from the day it arrives.
I cannot wait to put it on over my LOUD Watermelon shirt.
Mandela was right. Until Palestine is free, none can truly be free.

I love it!

I originally bought my kufiya to show solidarity, but I use it for so much more. I'm a bald woman, and it helps me protect my head from the sun AND feel beautiful. It's very comfortable, soft but sturdy, and looks lovely. In the winter, I'm sure it will keep me warm, too. I adore the pattern, and the color is really versatile! Thank you.
