Shami

$27.99

Shami is primarily Syrian design, although it can be met across other Middle Eastern countries. The ongoing war in Syria was the last nail in the coffin of minimal production of kufiyas there. Now you have a chance to purchase this Syrian design but made in Palestine by Hirbawi. It has the same pattern as our traditional Red and White kufiya but in black and white.

Material

Soft cotton. Biggest size on the market, 47” by 47”, over 15 sq. ft. of awesomeness. Made on a custom keffiyeh loom and finished by hand

Why

Because Hirbawi is the real deal, a kufiya made by the last factory that has been making them for decades. By purchasing from us you contribute to keeping this tradition alive

Care

Hand wash or gentle machine wash preferably in delicates bag, line dry.

The scarf or shemagh was perfect except 1 thing

The shemagh was perfect but the colors of the photo dont match what you get exactly. The photo looked like a coyote brown with a dark brown and I got a faded black and gold. I'm not unsatisfied at all. It's going to work great for use and is soft too.

Hirbawi: Made with love in Palestine

I remember seeing a profile of the factory perhaps on YouTube or PBS and was very intrigued with their story. This is from the paper insert that comes with one of their keffiyeh:"You are holding a Kufiya made by Hirbawi, the last and only Kufiya manufacturer in Palestine. With your purchase, you are contributing to keeping our factory running its production and preserving a Palestinian traditional and a nation symbol."This keffiyeh, or Kufiya, is made of amazing quality especially when compared to cheaper Chinese made knockoffs. If you are looking for one to last, looking for one made with mastery of trade, and the quality that comes from same, buy a Hirbawi keffiyeh.

Quality built

Like the product, serves a great purpose for cold weather months. Not a fan of the ball tassels but a quick snip from scissors made it more palatable for my taste.
