The design of this Kufiya is inspired by Yafa (Jaffa), located at the Mediterranean Sea. The name Yafa means beauty in Canaanite, and the city's charm makes you fall in love with it immediately - exactly like this Kufiya.

The deep blue zig-zag pattern on a black background represents the sea's gentle waves during the warm summer nights of Yafa.

Why Hirbawi?

By buying Hirbawi, you contribute to keeping the tradition of artisanal weavers alive, the last factory in Palestine and pretty much the rest of the region. You get to own a legendary piece of everyday accessories from the factory that started counting its 7th decade of operation. Read more here

What is Hirbawi Kufiya like?

Oh...Soft cotton. Most likely the biggest you can find, 47” by 47”, which is over 15 sq. ft. of awesomeness. Made on a custom kufiya loom and finished by hand.

wonderful kufiya, beautifully woven

The craft and care are obvious in each thread, so soft and light. The black and bright blue make such a gorgeous contrast, and it feels to carry the emotions of Yafa, nostalgia of a summer night with the orange blossoms and sea salt carried on the breeze. The black base makes this a bold conversation piece to wear for both radical and formal occasions. Powerful and elegant. Shukran!

Love the shade of blue

This is even more beautiful in person. The embroidered pattern is a lovely shade of blue and has a subtle shine to it. It adds a pop of color to any neutral outfit. I love the unmatched quality of Hirbawi kufiyas and cherish any opportunity to support Palestinian livelihoods and show my solidarity.

My First Kufiya!

This is my first kufiya and I am very happy with it. It's a great size and the fabric is very soft. I love the colors and its close association with the sea. Now I just have to practice tying and wearing it...

Good design, many loose threads

The kufiya are beautiful in their design but one of them has very poor finishing resulting in dozens of hanging threads all over which easily snag and can unravel.
